Ceramic material is widely used to manufacture mini urns for ashes. Ceramists blend specially selected ingredients to obtain the ceramic properties required, and with this clay each artist fashions their pieces and gives them a specific finish. The resulting mini urn is a unique, highly attractive product.

Templates are used to make the plaster models which will serve as the moulds for the different models of these ceramic mini urns. The moulds are used to form the different clay models, which are then removed and the mini urns left to dry. Once dry, their surfaces are smoothed and they are placed in a kiln and fired. Then they are glazed and fired again.

What is Kintsugi?
Kintsugi (golden joinery), also known as kintsukuroi (golden repair), is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. The method is similar to the maki-e technique. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.
